About Spencer J. Jenkins, M.D.
Dr. Spencer J. Jenkins has a BS degree from Presbyterian College and a MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in the Navy at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth Virginia. After completing his residency, he was a Staff Internist at Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort South Carolina.
He then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta Georgia. Practicing in Columbia since 2003, Dr. Jenkins is board certified in Gastroenterology. He has active privileges at Palmetto Health Baptist and Providence Hospital – and is a member of the South Carolina Medical Association, South Carolina Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Love this practice! I would recommend them to anyone. Went there years ago for stomach issues then 10 years later started having pain on my side that I thought was my gallbladder. Walked in and asked if I could get an appointment and they were able to fit me in. They treated me like I had never stopped going there. It was a great experience. They got me in to get an ultrasound and then a surgeon to remove my gallbladder. The staff are pleasant and the doctors are fantastic!

Dr. Spence Jenkins is without a doubt the most professional, accountable and compassionate physician I have ever had the privilege to be a patient of. He actively listens when you talk to him, he checks on you after treatment, and if you have a problem it is always addressed in a more than timely fashion. I would highly recommend his practice.
I recently had an colonoscopy performed with Dr. Jenkins. Not only was it painless, but Dr. Jenkins and his staff went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible before during and after the procedure.
