About Samuel Schowengerdt, M.D.
Dr. Schowengerdt was born in Kansas City, and raised in the Northland. He earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madision, WI. He went on to become a Chief Resident at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Schowengerdt is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Schowengerdt cares for patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and chronic liver diseases. He enjoys Gastroenterology as it allows him to provide a continuity of care to patients in the hospital, clinic, and procedure-based settings as well as care for patients throughout their life.
His clinical interests include colon cancer screening and hereditary Gastrointestinal syndromes. Outside of work Dr. Schowengerdt spends time with his wife and two young boys. His interests including traveling to our National Parks, playing Legos with his kids, and movie nights at home with his wife.
