About Gregg Wendorf, M.D.

Dr. Gregg Wendorf, a South Texas native, was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He received his MD from UT Health San Antonio while also earning his Master of Public Health. After medical school, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. Dr. Wendorf was honored to serve as Chief Fellow during his final year of fellowship.

Dr. Wendorf is excited to return to San Antonio and join GCSA and looks forward to forming lasting relationships with his patients and helping treat a wide variety of illnesses. He is skilled in all areas of gastroenterology with special interest in functional bowel disorders such as IBS, motility disorders such as gastroparesis, and liver diseases including Hepatitis C, fatty liver, and cirrhosis. Dr. Wendorf is also skilled in the placement and management of feeding tubes in patients with strokes or other neurologic disorders.

Dr. Wendorf is a married father of two. When not working, he enjoys traveling with his
family, reading, and sampling the local breweries and restaurants.
