Dr. Vijay Dalapathi of Austin Gastroenterology explains why he chose gastroenterology as a field. He enjoys the variety of diseases, and the balance of treating both gastrointestinal emergencies such as GI bleeding in the hospital, as well as treating patients with chronic conditions such as eosinophillic esophagitis, celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis.
