About Amit Trehan, M.D.

Dr. Amit Trehan received his residency and fellowship training at New York Medical college, Valhalla, New York. After finishing his training in 1996, he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he has been practicing Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He did his executive MBA at Texas Tech, Rawls School of Business in 2003. With a passion for learning, Dr. Trehan did Owners and Presidents Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2012. He is presently the class secretary for his OPM 42 Class. He was instrumental in organizing Colon Cancer Awareness Run in Amarillo from 2012-2014, in addition to hosting GI symposium in Amarillo during those years. His organization ( Amarillo Endoscopy Center) was the first outpatient ambulatory center in town, first to bring Wireless Capsule Endoscopy to our town, one of first to get Electronic Heath Care system in GI and one of the first GI physician in the Nation to be trained at ablation of Barrett’s Esophagus. He is on the Board of Directors for several of our local businesses. He loves to be outdoors, with several marathons, triathlons, hiking trips( including Pikes Peak and Grand Canyon) under his belt. He enjoys reading Non- fiction literature. He received creative design diploma from Amarillo College in 2017. A life time learner, he is actively involved in several volunteer projects in Amarillo. He is married to Manishika Trehan, a primary care physician at Veterans Hospital, here in Amarillo. He has two wonderful kids, Sahiba Trehan, a freshman at Texas A&M with biomedical science major and Aryan Trehan in middle school.
