Gastroenterologist

About Gabriel Rendon, M.D.

Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

I chose gastroenterology as a specialty because I find the liver, pancreas and intestinal tract fascinating. Gastroenterology still utilizes the “art of medicine,” yet relies heavily on science and evidence-based medicine. I find endoscopic procedures to be a very rewarding experience. It is the perfect mix of office time and procedure time.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

My main interests are colon cancer screening and prevention, GERD, pancreas and biliary disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and boating. My son and I play golf on weekends and we enjoy Aggie games as well.

Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?

I graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from my medical school, the highest honor. I have been chosen as a “Best Doctor” by D magazine multiple times.
