Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
I was attracted to gastroenterology because of the diversity of the field. It allows me to treat both the acutely ill patient in the hospital setting, as well as develop a relationship with a patient over several years in the outpatient setting. It permits me to use the diagnostic skills of an internal medicine doctor in addition to performing procedures.
Do you have a specialty of interest in Gastroenterology?
I enjoy treating a wide variety of general GI conditions including liver disease.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I have always been an avid reader, enjoying both fiction and non-fiction. Walks in our local parks serve to re-energize me and give me new gardening ideas. The thing, I enjoy most, however, is spending time with my extended family who live in the area. While sports are not my passion, I look forward to front row seats at all of my niece’s and nephews’ games.
