About Rebecca Voaklander, M.D.

The daughter of a school teacher and a fisherman, Dr. Voaklander is originally from San Diego, California. She completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University and was a varsity softball pitcher.

She attended medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed Internal Medicine residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and additionally served as a Chief Medical Resident. She completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Utah where she was honored with the Outstanding Fellow Teaching Award.

Dr. Voaklander is interested and experienced in treating all disorders across the gastrointestinal spectrum. She emphasizes an individualized approach to treating the patient as a whole. She has a particular interest in colon cancer prevention and inflammatory bowel disease.

In her spare time, Dr. Voaklander is most likely found enjoying the outdoors with her family.
