About Babusai Rapaka, M.D.
Dr. Babusai Rapaka is a San Antonio native, and a Mayo Clinic trained gastroenterologist.
He earned his Medical Doctorate from UT Health San Antonio, after which he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Emory University, where he served as chief resident. He then moved to Rochester, Minnesota to train in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic, where he received comprehensive training in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology. During his time there, he was also elected as chief gastroenterology fellow. Dr. Rapaka pursued additional training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr.Rapaka is adept at managing a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases with a particular focus on pancreatic and hepatobiliary conditions. He is proficient in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of early esophageal and gastric lesions, large polyp resection, endoluminal stenting, and radiofrequency ablation of tumors.
Dr. Rapaka is deeply committed to building lasting relationships with patients. He believes in personalizing care to the needs of the individual person and respecting diverse backgrounds. Outside of work, he values quality time with his wife. They are passionate about traveling and experiencing different cultures, cuisines, and traditions of the world. Dr. Rapaka is also an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. As a proud San Antonio native, Dr. Rapaka is thrilled to offer his skills and knowledge to serve the community he calls home.
