Brad Trowbridge, M.D.
Governor of West Division (UG-Utah)
About Brad Trowbridge, M.D.
“I chose the specialty of gastroenterology due to the complex and varied nature of gastrointestinal disease. Gastroenterology is one of the few specialties that allow both prevention of disease and treatment of current disease. I enjoy the ability to prevent disease through colon cancer screening. I also enjoy being able to positively impact patients’ lives by improving their health through appropriate treatment of current disease. I believe it is important to be up-to-date on the rapidly expanding field of gastroenterology to provide the best treatment options for my patients.
“I consider my approach to care to be patient-centered. I believe it is important to give the patient time to tell their story in order to accurately diagnose their condition. I like to involve the patient in the treatment of their condition as I believe one treatment strategy does not fit all patients. When possible, I like to start with nutrition and lifestyle changes and only provide medications when necessary. I consider my interactions with patients caring and lighthearted. I am honest and empathetic. Ultimately, I hope to improve the health of my patients and give them knowledge about their condition and peace of mind.”
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Trowbridge enjoys mountain biking, road biking, fishing, skiing, hiking and reading. This often involves spending time with his wife and two kids.
