About Brett Hymel, M.D.

Dr. Brett Hymel is a board certified Gastroenterologist with Metropolitan Gastroenterology/GI Alliance. He performs routine GI procedures such as EGD and colonoscopy, in addition to an array of advanced/therapeutic procedures such as ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, liver biopsy, hemorrhoidal banding/ablation, HALO therapy for Barrett’s Esophagus, Stretta treatment for reflux disease, endoscopic resection of large colon/stomach/intestinal polyps/lesions, celiac plexus nerve blocks, among others. Dr. Hymel is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and The American Gastroenterology Association.

Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

Gastroenterology is a diverse field offering both non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as well as the maintenance of long term relationships with many of our patients.

Do you have a specialty of interest in Gastroenterology?

Pancreatobiliary disease and Endoscopic mucosal resection of large intestinal lesions/polyps.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy spending time with family, including dining out, traveling, worshiping.
