About Bryan Doherty, M.D.
Dr. Bryan Doherty was born on Long Island, New York and is a dual degree graduate of the University of Delaware. His journey into medicine began in high school when he spent his summers and weekends conducting research at New York University Grossman School of Medicine and Weill Cornell Medical Center.
He obtained his medical degree at the American University of Antigua and Florida International University in Miami. His residency was at Grand Strand Medical Center an affiliate of University of South Carolina/Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his training with a fellowship in Gastroenterology at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Doherty is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Dr. Doherty has been published in medical literature and has presented at various national and international conferences.
Dr. Doherty specializes in treating gastrointestinal hemorrhage, foreign body removal, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, GERD/heartburn, inflammatory bowel disease, and colon cancer prevention. Dr. Doherty’s passion is driven by the bonds he builds with his patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy and well. Dr. Doherty resides on Bainbridge Island, WA with his wife, and enjoys life with his two daughters and son.

I went in for my procedure nervous and very unsure, but doctor Bryan and the staff that helped and surrounded me were very patient and supportive. I have nothing but gratitude and respect for all of them.

Prompt and courteous. Office’s are clean and everyone seems to work together seamlessly. They got their approval from my insurance within a day and called me the next day to schedule one month out appointment at St Michael’s. Sent paperwork through USPS. Received days later. Totally pleased with my care so far. This is my third visit in 10 years.

Was put under for an endoscopy, was still asleep when the doctor came by to tell me how it went. Would be nice if they waited until you were coherent when they come to let you know the details.
Very efficient staff and the doctor is friendly and knowledgeable. He informed me what he is going to do and what to expect.

Dr. Doherty and his team is the best. He really has good bedside manners and is a very nice person not just a doctor but as a person!!! I would recommend him to anyone that needs gastrolgy needs over any doctor.. Him and Dr. Stephen Buckley out of Hattiesburg Mississippi has been the best 2 gastrolist that I have ever seen.. If every Doctor could be like these two it would be a nice world!!! And I Thank his team to can't leave them out!!!

I thought it would take months to get an appointment and it didn't. The staff was very caring and kind and helped to put my mind at ease. The doctor was extremely professional, confident, and informative which allowed me to relax and trust he and his team at the peak of my anxiety over the procedures. I don't remember closing my eyes, but woke up, what seemed like a minute later, in recovery. The doctor shared his overall observations right away which was great. Ask for portal information before you leave. I didn't and a request option is not available online.
The Dr was very personable with me, he covered all my concerns and helped me make a plan which come to find out was my problem. So I can't say enough good things about Dr Bryan Doherty!
9/2024 - I met Dr. Doherty just recently. He was attentive and compassionate. He listened to me tell him a complicated history of abdominal pain. I felt at ease and didn't feel rushed. The best though was him actually explaining why he wanted more scans and what "we" were looking for. That team approach is what I look for. He'll be my permanent GI doctor from now on.
