Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

The accumulation of fat, which may be due to multiple causes, in the liver. Initially, this is a benign condition, but it may progress to an inflammatory process called Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) that can lead to liver damage.
