Dr. Diego Baltodano has been with GSI since 2013. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1999 from the Universidad de Costa Rica. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2003 at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
In 2008, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and since then he has practiced gastroenterology at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

This was my first time getting a colonoscopy and I was very nervous. Dr. Baltodano and the entire staff at VEG made me feel very comfortable and assured me that all would go well and it did! I would highly recommend Dr. Baltodano and Virginia Endoscopy Group and Richmond Gastrointestinal.

I love Dr. B office and staff they are amazing just like him, they walk you through everything and assure your aftercare is explained completely
He’s the best! He’s been my gastro doctor since I was 18 & has done all of my colonoscopies. He is very personable & kind. He helped me understand what’s going on in my body & helped me get into remission. I’m so thankful for him!
