Dr. Diego Baltodano has been with GSI since 2013. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1999 from the Universidad de Costa Rica. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2003 at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
In 2008, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and since then he has practiced gastroenterology at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

Excellent care and professionalism
This was my first time getting a colonoscopy and I was very nervous. Dr. Baltodano and the entire staff at VEG made me feel very comfortable and assured me that all would go well and it did! I would highly recommend Dr. Baltodano and Virginia Endoscopy Group and Richmond Gastrointestinal.

I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. From the front desk checking in, to meeting the doctor was a great experience. Dr. Baltodano listened to me and I didn't feel rushed. Great experience.
I love Dr. B office and staff they are amazing just like him, they walk you through everything and assure your aftercare is explained completely

My experience was wonderful, from the time I entered the door until my eyes opened from the procedure. All of my questions were answered thoroughly and with it being my first colonoscopy everyone made me feel soo comfortable. And Dr Baltodano was so nice, professional, and he has a AWESOME bedside manner. Thank you ALL FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE!
Dr Baltidano and his staff are exceptional, procedural process is very efficient and staff is courteous from office to nursing / anesthesia care to discharge.
