Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

I became interested in Gastroenterology because it incorporates routine history and physical and lab and diagnostic testing with endoscopic procedures to help patients with digestive ailments. In addition I like the therapeutic modalities offered by Gastroenterology procedures including hemostasis in GI bleeding , esophageal dilation, Therapeutic ERCP, etc.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

My areas of interest in addition to general digestive diseases and problems include liver diseases , colon cancer screening, and ERCP.
