Great experience with Dr. Krill and his team for my GI care! Communication, details, what to expect, and procedure follow up's were all tier service level. Dr. Krill was involved in every step of my care and provided clear understandings of the process and results. Highly recommended for any GI needs within the greater Houston area!
Dr Krill was GREAT! Very personable, took time to answer all my questions pre and post procedure. He was even very quick to call me back on a follow up question. Super impressed with Dr. Krill at every step.
(Please Note: This is a copy of my review for Digestive Health Associates as it predominantly highlights Dr. Krill.)
I have read some of the comments about difficulties with the administrative staff and will address this later. In general, I call the front desk staff of medical facilities "gatekeepers." And they will make or break your access to your doctors!
To give you some context: In my experience, I needed approval from another specialist to get a colonoscopy. This other specialist had a horrible front desk assistant who lost my approval form, claimed the doctor doesn't complete such forms (after I had just left his office, and he had agreed), and she ignored the doctor's follow-up orders and instead chatted with the nurse for 10 minutes about nothing. Then she left me in an empty office when she took off to NOT do her job. It was dark and almost 7 pm by then. Because I felt something was weird about her, I took a picture of the doctor's follow up orders and approval notes. It served me well.
Now, for Dr. Krill's staff. Yes, one of the front desk ladies is impersonal. I noticed that on my first visit.
After I finally went to the other specialist in my attempt to get an approval letter, I did run into difficulties trying to explain the events that happened with Dr. Krill's staff. His staff did hear my messages, but it was confusing. I explained the situation and it was hit or miss on whoever I managed to get on the phone or whoever tried to get back to me with a voicemail. I didn't get anywhere.
So, this is the impressive difference. During my first meeting with Dr. Krill, he gave me a method of contacting him directly if I ever needed to. How many doctors do that? It's rare. I kept the information and months went by.
Once I had the referral issue with the specialist's staff refusing to write my approved referral, after struggling for about 2 weeks, I directly contacted Dr. Krill. I'm shy and really had been hesitant but by this time desperation triumphed over timidity. I reached out to Dr. Krill. The very next day I was scheduled.
I don't know him very well, but I could tell he was special during my first visit, and he seems amazing. I haven't undergone the procedure just yet, but I'll think about providing an update.
(Note: Please don't use this story as a license to spam and message the doctor repeatedly. The man has a job to do. It is important to practice the heavenly virtue of self-restraint :)...)
UPDATE: I finished the procedure and everything was GREAT!!! I haven't slept under deep sedation since my wisdom teeth extraction as a teenager, so I was overly nervous and successfully delayed the procedure for a year or more. In retrospect, Dr. Krill and the entire staff were the best I could have asked for. Everyone was caring and gentle. I went to sleep, woke up, and everything was done!
In reality, the hardest part of the overall process is the 24 hours prior to surgery at home. Drinking the medicine (I called it "poison water") and staying up practically all night is the hardest part. The "poison water" is rough to get down and you have to do it twice. I'm also not a fan of liquid diets. It's a difficult 24 hours.
Once I was in Dr. Krill's hands and with his staff, everything was easy. I followed up with a Hopdoddy Mother Nature Burger and Parmesan Truffle Fries reward and then resumed my healthier diet thereafter. Everything ended with me HAPPY!!!

Dr. Krill is the best doctor I have ever seen in my life. He is very knowledgeable, professional, caring, and down to earth personality. He is a real gentleman. I’m so pleased meeting him and I am sure I am in good hands for required treatments. Our world needs more human and professionals like Dr. Krill.
First time having a colonoscopy, so I was pretty reluctant to go through with it. But the experience was easy and without discomfort. I’m now telling all my friends my age not to put this off, and use my doctor. Only complaint is that the office took over a month to schedule the procedure, and I was about to give up and seek out a different doctor. But I’m really glad they eventually contacted me, because I now have no complaints. I would definitely use Dr. Krill again.
Great professional service and thorough care of my procedure. Dr. Krill and his team are super engaged with their patients and take the time it needs. Definitely a recommendation to everyone.
Very caring and wonderful medical staff.
