Lee Ellison Jr., M.D.
Gastroenterologist
About Lee Ellison Jr., M.D.
Why Gastroenterology?
I chose to specialize in GI due to the variety of care modalities and patient interactions that are unique to the specialty. The procedural nature of the specialty was especially attractive to me, however, the opportunity to continue to care for patients with chronic conditions in the office and emergent conditions in the hospital keeps every day interesting. The ability to provide therapeutic interventions with quick relief for some patients while also forming close bonds with other patients with lifelong diseases is unique to this field. I look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge of gastroenterology and hepatology while honing my skills as a physician as my career continues.
What Can Patients Expect?
My goal is to use my experience/expertise to provide patients with recommendations and nuanced discussion while focusing on autonomy/preferences for each individual patient as they direct their individual care.
What certifications do you hold?
Board-certified in Internal Medicine
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy walks with my wife and son, reading, exercising, yard work, cooking, recreational and collegiate/professional sports, fantasy football, freshwater fishing, and medical missions outreach.
