About Mark J. Wegmann, M.D.
Dr. Wegmann received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at LSU as well. He has been practicing in Metairie since 2007. He is a member of several GI societies, including the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Wegmann practices at the Metairie office of Metropolitan Gastroenterology Associates.

Dr. Wegmann has been the best gastroenterologist I have ever had. I can't recall how long I have been seeing him but I will tell you even though I live on the Northshore I will not change him for anything. Very easy to get an appointment. The receptionist gave me great directions on where to park and how to enter the building. It was so nice to almost park at the office's front door. The office staff was very accomodating. And Dr. Wegmann? A good listener,thorough, and very kind. It was a good experience and I was glad that I chose to see him.

My mom is an older woman with mental illness and she tends to get treated dismissively by a lot of people, including many healthcare providers. We only had occasion to see Dr. Wegmann a few times for a consultations and removal of a feeding tube when my mom was battling cancer. I was really touched by how kind Dr. Wegmann and his nurse, Raven, were to my mom. It's really been a rarity for us and I just wanted to express my appreciation to both of them.
Dr Wegmann is a great gastrologist. He takes the time to try to resolve problems that you are suffering with. Very helpful I would recommend Dr Wegmann any day.
