About Ronald Kotfila, M.D.

Ronald P. Kotfila joined the GI Associates family in 1997 and is one of the gastroenterologists at the Flowood GI Associates and Endoscopy Center and the Madison GI Associates and Endoscopy Center.

Dr. Kotfila received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona and went on to pursue his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed both his residency and internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California at Davis Medical Center. After serving on the faculty, he went on to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology at UCD as well. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Kotfila has received various honors and awards, has an extensive list of research experience and has authored several scientific publications. He has been awarded the title of Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. In addition to working for GI Associates, Dr. Kotfila has served as President of the Mississippi GI Society and as Medical Director of Endoscopy at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He sees patients with all gastrointestinal problems including acid reflux, ulcers, Liver, pancreas and biliary problems, GI motility problems, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis and GI cancer diagnosis and screening.
