About Scott Wardlaw, M.D.

I enjoy many areas of GI but have a particular interest in IBD and liver disease.

Why Gastroenterology?

I was initially drawn to gastroenterology after doing quite a bit of work taking care of patients on an inpatient liver service during residency. I found it both educational and rewarding to help patients navigate the twists and turns involved in these medical conditions. The more exposure I had to all facets of GI, the more I learned how many other opportunities are available to have an impact on the patients I serve.

What can patients Expect?

I think something I really value is developing a rapport with my patients and their families. I put a lot of importance on listening and shared decision making to help address the issues most important to my patients and put together a treatment plan most in line with their goals.

Outside of the Office

I enjoy spending time with my family, being active in the outdoors, trying new restaurants and traveling.

Interests outside of work?

My wife Julie and I enjoy spending time with family (both with mine in Little Rock and with hers in New England). We also enjoy relaxing on Lake Ouachita whenever possible. Otherwise, I enjoy golfing and duck hunting with my Labrador retriever, Lou. I’m also an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
