About Stuart Akerman, MD
Dr. Akerman is fellowship-trained in many advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, fine needle aspiration, and cholangioscopy. He practiced in Bayshore, NY, for several years before relocating to the North Texas area. It is very important to him to be able to work with other physicians in the practice who are also advanced endoscopists. This allows Dr. Akerman to provide these complex procedures in a timely manner to serve his patients better.

Was worried about the procedure but Dr. Akerman and his staff was amazing, made my procedure smoothly as possible.
Dr. Akerman’s office staff are caring and supportive. Letty has been extremely helpful with planning my procedures and answering my questions. Dr. Akerman is extremely personable, compassionate, understanding, kind, sweet and patient and he listens to every thing you have to say without interrupting. Before I could have my procedure my IV gave out and I had to get a new IV placed, I am a very hard stick. Dr. Akerman held my hand and I have never had a doctor hold my hand for an IV. Dr. Akerman stayed by my side while the nurses looked and started another IV. Dr. Akerman asked me if I had any requests to play music, and I have never been asked that question before. Dr. Akerman never made me feel like he was in a hurry, in fact it was just the opposite, he was so patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Akerman to my family and friends. Dr. Akerman is a wonderful doctor and I know that he will always take great care of me.

I had a great experience with Dr. Akerman! He is super friendly and makes you feel so comfortable. He explained everything to me and calmed me down as this was my 1st time having a colonoscopy. Everyone in his office is fantastic and helpful as well.

Was a wonderful experience - everyone at the office was nice and helpful - from the reception person who welcomed to the final nurse who walked me out to my ride home. Wish I could remember names. Dr Ackerman I remember his name of course since he was my Dr. The anesthesiologist too was great. God is great and all His medical helpers are doing a wonderful job.

Dr. Akerman has worked closely with me on a number of procedures to determine the cause of my ongoing symptoms. He has been detailed and quick to move forward as we obtained new info. Dr. Akerman was able to determine I had a malignant tumor of my Liver and immediately referred me to the appropriate Care Team to address this serious matter. Thanks to Dr. Akerman we caught this problem in its early stage and I now have an abundance of optimism that I can be cured.
