About Sumanth R. Daram, M.D., FACP
Dr. Daram obtained his medical school training from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India and completed his residency training at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He served as a Medical Director for the academic hospitalist program at Wheaton Franciscan-St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI prior to completing his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS. He then completed a fellowship in Pancreato-Biliary Disorders and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. In addition to general endoscopic procedures, his endoscopic practice includes ERCP, EUS, Enteral Stenting, Device (Balloon) Assisted Enteroscopy EMR, and RFA/Ablative Therapy for Barrett’s Esophagus. His clinical practice includes General GI, with special interest in Pancreato-biliary disorders and GI Oncology. His clinical research interests are in the field of endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic outcomes and web-based medical education and training including the use of videos in imparting endoscopic training. Dr. Daram has presented at various national and international meetings including the DDW. He is passionate about producing educational endoscopic videos and DVDs. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, in addition to scientific abstracts.

The receptionists and assistants were cheerful and inviting. Dr Darham took time to answer our questions and invited us to ask more. The procedures he completed were perfect. He openly invited to be sure to contact him if we had additional questions or concerns. Very satisfied!

True to Dr. Muzaffar’s assessment, Dr. Daram is an exceptional and dedicated physician with a kind and gentle demeanor who takes time to listen to his patients and to explain everything very clearly. This is my personal experience regarding Dr. Daram’s quality of care and medical expertise: He recently performed a colonoscopy and endoscopy procedure on me. I felt a great deal of anxiety prior to the procedure. Dr. Daram took the time to listen to my concerns, address my apprehension, and relieve my fears. I read about the side effects that may result from the procedure the evening before. It was a long list of possible issues from mild to severe. To my utter surprise and relief, other than fatigue from fasting the day before and staying up late into the night to drink the required concoction, I felt perfectly fine - wonderful in fact - after the procedure. I feel confident that this is a testament to Dr. Daram’s outstanding abilities as a physician. I trust Dr. Daram and highly recommend him with enthusiasm.
