Gastroenterologist

About Taylor Derousseau, M.D.

Although I am passionate about all general GI and liver issues, I do have a particular interest in motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract for which I completed additional training during my fellowship. These can present with a variety of symptoms some of which include heartburn/reflux, troubles swallowing, refractory constipation, and incontinence of stool.

Why Gastroenterology?

This specialty allows me to practice a fundamental pillar of medicine – prevention. Preventing colon cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer in the nation, is a privilege. Gastroenterology is at the crossroads between internal medicine and surgery and I enjoy this mix of spending time talking with patients as well as performing procedures. Finally, in gastroenterology I am able to diagnose and treat a broad variety of diseases in both a clinic and hospital setting which I find exciting, challenging, and rewarding.

What can patients Expect?

Patients can expect a thorough and comprehensive evaluation into their current concerns and history followed by a holistic and personalized treatment plan at each visit. Additionally, consistent and timely communication is vital and patients can expect prompt and straightforward explanations of test results.

Outside of the Office

My free time is typically spent with my incredible wife and children. Watching my kids’ sports activities, exploring new parks, discovering new restaurants, biking, hiking, movies, or swimming. I’m also an avid fan of Dallas sports.
