Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
I loved the intellectual challenge of internal medicine, but also liked doing surgical procedures. Gastroenterology fit both.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I do not have a specific interest, as I enjoy all aspects of Gastroenterology.
Where did you study?
I did my Medical school training in Arizona and my internal medicine training and gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center. I then taught gastroenterology at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center.
What certifications do you hold?
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
We love to travel, hike and fish.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?
I am a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology.
Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English?
German.

Dr Kepczyk and his staff are very nice and attentive.
From check-in to pre procedure, the entire staff in Christus was top shelf. Very professional team.

Dr. Kepczyk is the best, his staff is the best. They have been since day one. I recently had my colonoscopy (my last was about 3 years ago. No they aren’t fun but necessary. Dr. Kepczyk is informative and thorough and has a great bed side manner. He’s never been late (my experience from the several times I have seen him and also my husband, in fact he’s early. :)
My only complaint I have for the last two colonoscopies is for the surgical center outpatient place on Commons in New Braunsfels. The last two people we have had (me this last time her name was Lori (I think she is a nurse assistant and my husband’s last visit ( not sure of her name) but those two were very rude and rushing. Barely opened our eyes and she (along with the last one) is instructing to hurry up get dressed and rushing you into a wheel chair to get out. I had to call her out on it and the other one my husband had last time. Told her to slow down and let us get our bearings to which both times the reply was “well we have others needing this bed”. Everything is always great until you have to come across those two. I feel sorry for little old people that that more than likely talk to and act towards that way. Again, Dr. Kepczyk and staff and all the rest I came across at the surgery center were awesome, except for those two ladies that were in charge of getting us ready to go and wheeling us out.

He must have done this procedure thousands of times, but he did not interact with me as though it was just another one. He was exact, friendly and efficient. He smiled and that meant something to me. He is committed to doing a good job and, he enjoys it.
Dr. Kepczyk and staff is one of the friendliest and most professional staff I have encountered. I would highly recommend him if you like to be treated with respect!

Dr. Kepczyk and the entire team are beyond professional, caring, concerned. My total experience of the intake and post-procedure was ideal. Phone calls are returned promptly, scheduling was easy. I’d be very happy to refer family and friends to this office. Thank you for all you do.
Dr. Kepczyk is just amazing. His bedside manner is top notch. Him and staff listen to your concerns and take the time to listen and make sure you understand. Never rushed or hurried. Recently had a procedure and Dr. Kepczyk not only checked on me before the procedure but afterwards also. All I can say is if you need a gastroenterologist, go see Dr. Kepczyk you won’t be disappointed!
Dr Kepczyk has been my doctor for 30 years. He is very accommodating, and moves quickly to adjust my treatment as necessary to address health developments.
Dr. Kepczyk cares about his patients, always listens to you, & spends the necessary time with you. He checked in with me before my procedure to make sure I understood was going to happen & then came to see me afterwards to explain what he found. I also received a followup letter from him. He is an outstanding doctor.

The colonoscopy was done fast. The surgery center staff was very friendly and Dr. Kepczyk.

My experience with dr kepcyzk was very good I did not worry about the procedure since I have trusted his experience in his field for many years he is the best. Thank you for being the professional that you are.
The prep I chose was very easy to complete and since I had an afternoon appointment I was able to rest well at night. Thank you for the prep options.
