About Troy Morrissette, M.D.
Charles Troy Morrissette M.D. is a board-certified gastroenterologist practicing at Hattiesburg GI Associates in Hattiesburg, MS.
Dr. Morrissette was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduation from Briarcrest Baptist High School, where he lettered in football and track, he attended Memphis State University. At Memphis State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Vertebrate Zoology. Dr. Morrissette attended medical school at the University of Tennesse, UTCHS. He then completed an internal medicine residency at UTCHS in 1990. After the internal medicine residency, he completed his gastroenterology training at the University of Tennessee Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. After training with Dr. Fox at the University of Tennessee, he moved to Hattiesburg, MS to continue their professional relationship in private practice.
Dr. Morrissette has served as the Chairman of the Nutrition Committee, President of HubHeath, Chief of Medicine, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, President of the Medical Staff, and he served on the Board of Trustees at the former Methodist Hospital, now Merit Health Wesley. He is a member of the Mississippi State Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterology Association. He is on the Active Staff at Merit health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS.
Dr. Morrissette met his wife, Mrs. Natalie Bray Morrissette, at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, and they have been married for 30 years as of January 30, 2023. Natalie was Miss Tennessee USA in 1992. Dr. and Mrs. Morrissette feel very blessed to have two daughters, Summer and Halle Morrissette. As of 2023, Summer is a Resident in Dermatology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Halle is a Dental Student at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. Morrissette and his family have been members for approximately 30 years at First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg, now Venture Church. He and Natalie now attend First Baptist Oloh in Oloh, MS. In his spare time, Dr. Morrissette enjoys traveling to see and spend time with his daughters. He is a member of the Concealed Carry Association, and he enjoys time at a shooting range. He is an Instrument Rated Pilot and is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assocation, AOPA.
