About Valerie Charlton, PA-C

Valerie Charlton, a Utah native, is a board-certified Physician Associate passionate about
digestive health and patient care. She attended Brigham Young University, earning her Bachelor
of Arts in Communications. She went on to work for NBC’s Today Show for a short time before
continuing her studies and training at the University of Utah becoming a board-certified nuclear
medicine and CT technologist. She worked as a nuclear medicine technician performing clinical
and managerial tasks before continuing her education by obtaining a Master’s in Physician
Assistant Studies and undergoing dedicated training in gastrointestinal disorders.

Known for her empathetic patient care approach, she prioritizes patient education and support,
ensuring that individuals understand their conditions and treatment options. Valerie is
particularly passionate about promoting preventative care and educating patients on lifestyle
modifications to enhance their digestive health guided by evidence-based medicine.

An advocate for ongoing education, Valerie regularly participates in professional development as
a member of The Utah Academy of Physician Assistants, The California Academy of Physician
Associates, and The American Academy of Physician Associates.

In her spare time, Valerie enjoys the beautiful Utah outdoors, spending time with her family,
traveling, dancing, downhill skiing, and listening to live music.
